“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” (Romans 8:15-16)
Fear is a spirit of bondage. Fear creates bondage in a person. You don’t have to be restricted to live in fear.
In place of a spirit of fear, we received the Spirit of adoption who is the Holy Spirit. That means that all those who are not born again are in bondage because they have the spirit of fear. The whole world may be living in fear but we are not to live in fear because we have the Spirit of God. So what should a child of God do when the world is in fear? We are busy crying Abba, Abba, Daddy, Daddy, Father, Father.
Have you watched children when they are playing around their parents at beaches or in open places? They keep running around and playing with anything they come across.
Meanwhile the parents keep watching them. When they run too far, their parents call them back. These children are just happy. They don’t know and don’t care who the president is and how long….These children don’t even mind what they will eat for supper. They are out happy. God expects us to be like those children. It took God to send His beloved Son so that we may be adopted as His children.
There should be nothing to scare us. He watches over us. We are hidden in Christ and Christ is hidden in God. We have no reason to fear. We have no reason to think of death. We are God’s children by adoption. Come on play and cry Daddie!!
