“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)
The church of the born again has an enemy, the devil who walks all over the place seeking who he can devour. He cannot just devour anyone in the church. He seeks whom he may devour. So if you are born again you have to be sober or alert and vigilant or watch diligently. Those born again who are sober and vigilant resist the devil steadfastly in the faith. In other words your faith will dictate your resistance.
You may pray and fast 300 days. You can only resist the devil or put him off by and through faith. I have heard some say that whatever is happening now is because of the church. That, the church has been lazy, and the leaders were seeking self aggrandizement to enrich themselves. Others say that since the early church there has never been such a time. Oh no! The apostle Peter taught the church that we have an enemy who is ever scheming to devour some from us. Prayer and fasting cannot throw him out.
Only by faith can the church put him off. As a born again you should not feel a false burden, you are not responsible for any disease. You should keep on growing your faith. There is no great revival coming from a virus attack. Resist the devil through, by and in the faith.
