“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1: 23) Some born again asks, “When did this happen?” To many born again, they got born again when an altar call was made. They came forward and prayed the sinner’s prayer, “Father forgive me my sins, erase my name from the books of the dead and write it in the book of life.
I confess with my mouth that I am born again and Jesus is Lord.” Or something like that. They left the altar wondering whether they won’t sin again. And before you know it, it is Sunday service and a roaring prayer warrior opens the service and tells everyone to repent their sins they have sinned through the week. It is so sad.
Every born again needs to know and to know it personally that when we got born again, we were born of the Word of God. The word of God which created all things in the beginning is our mother. The word of God which is incorruptible, it never changes, it does not grow old, it is Spirit. So we her children are just like her.
Sin has no power over us. This should excite some born again out there. And as a natural mother takes care of her children passionately, the word of God does the same. That is why when get born again, we should be obsessed with the word of God just like a child depends on its mother. The Word, The Word, The Word.
